Please pray for us. My wife is miscarrying today, at home. I am with her.

I am so sorry. Miscarriage is a very mysterious cross.

The process can take a couple of days or a whole week.

Here is some information about baptism and miscarriage. It's from a NO site, but this part is still accurate. For some reason, I can't get the FE pages to load.  (link)

Quote

From the first moment of conception the human fetus is animated by a rational soul. Therefore, in cases of premature birth or miscarriage, the fetus, however small, even if only a few weeks old, must be baptized as long as there is a chance that it has life. If it shows certain signs of life, it must be baptized conditionally: "If you are alive, I baptize you. . .etc."

Many newly-born infants and fetuses show no signs of life for some hours after delivery, but are really alive. This is why unless putrefaction has set in, such infants and fetuses should be baptized conditionally: "If you are alive. . .etc."

In cases where the fetus is expelled still enveloped in the membranes, the sac should be opened, and water poured over the fetus, or the fetus immersed in water, and the conditional form is given: "If you are alive. . .etc."

We thank you all for your prayers and sympathy. We realize how blessed we have been to have had seven consecutive healthy pregnancies and deliveries.

Its over now. Donna's in the hospital resting. She is doing as well as can be expected. I told our children that "Mom had a baby in her tummy and God took the baby to heaven." Our five year old said, "We had a broken baby." I told her God fixes broken babies. (Please, no theological corrections)

The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.

Keeping Mrs. Dismas in my prayers that she comes home soon and feels better, and also for you and the kids, of course.

Mark, I just read the news that you and your wife experienced a miscarriage this past week. I am so sorry for the loss of your child, and I am holding all of you in my prayers in a very special way. I have two children in heaven through miscarriage, and although the pain is great, I hope that it will bring you and your wife comfort to know that your baby is with God now. There is a wonderful prayer you can obtain from www.ewtn.com called "The Miscarriage Prayer." It has brought me great consolation, and I hope it will bring consolation to your family too. Your little angel in heaven will  now watch over  the seven children that God has blessed you with the opportunity to raise in this world. May God's peace and comfort be upon the Dismas family.

Tweepy,

We have been blessed by the prayers and support of many, including you. Thank you, and we will pray for you too.

Last night we prayed the prayer and blessing from the link you posted. Thank you again, it was a consolation for all of us.

Dismas, I am so sorry for your loss. Miscarriage is, I believe, one of the hardest things to deal with for a couple. I will keep your family in my prayers.

Tweepy, thank you for posting that prayer. It brought tears to my eyes.
