Aw, a third sprout! Congratulations and many prayers for the oven.

I just remembered that there is a blessing you can get from your priest for a safe and healthy pregnancy. I wonder if Vox has it on the website.

Hello, everyone. I know it's been awhile, but we've been pretty sick over here for what seems like an eternity!

I just found out this morning that Monkey and I are expecting our third little bebe. ÊWhile this is wonderful news, I am also more than a little scared.ÊLast December, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Although I have a great doctor who is handling this and keeping me healthy, I know that this makes things a bit stickier in regards to pregnancy and keeping the baby. I will be making an appointment with my OB\Gyn ASAP,Êbut please keep us in your prayers. Please pray that everything will be alright for our "Little Sprout" (as we like to call them at this point) and for me as well, that I can be healthy enough to be a "good oven". :D Take care, everyone!

Don't worry about the hypothyroidism. If it is under control it will have little to no effect on your pregnancy. Your OB will take your blood either each trimester or monthly depending on their choice. As long as your hormones stay well within the normal range all is well. The fact that you got pregnant shows that everything is probably ok. Uncontrolled hypothyroidism is a leading cause of infertility.
You may need an adjustment to your med during pregnancy and it is quite likely that you will need an adjustment postpartum. Be aware of symptoms that you might need an adjustment, better to catch it earlier than later. Quite often you will FEEL bad before any lab test will show the effects
To maximize your thyroid replacement do NOT take it with your vitamin, and do NOT take it with food. I find taking it at night just before bed is the best way.
Also avoid soy (bad for thyroid) and if you really want to be thyroid healthy avoid goitrogenic veggies like broccoli and cauliflower.

Uncontrolled, unmonitored thyroid disease is a problem. You are being monitored and it will be kept controlled. Just enjoy the pregnancy.

<-----Hashimoto's thyroiditis since '97. Babies in 93,94,97,99,01,03,06
My dd also has HT, dx'd at 8.

Thank you everyone, for your prayers and advice! I just had my pregnancy "confirmed" today by my nurse practitioner. She did the exam and did a preggie test and said that everything looks to be right where it should be. :D So we're going ahead and telling family and friends now and I told Sean who is just THRILLED! (he's a real baby lover...the tinier the better to him  ) We go to the actual doctor in a month, but things are looking up! And hearing the nurses tell me "Congratulations! This must be a happy day for you!" just drove it home to me and now I'm giggly as a little girl! So we're still praying, but I'm breathing a bit easier now.

Prayers for all of you ladies!

A friend lent me his relic of St. Gerard as we were hoping for a new baby soon and we just found out that number 8 is on the way. St. Gerard is quick!   Prayers, please, as I am not as young as I used to be and am starting to feel that

Update: We are now 25 weeks pregnant with our little boy - and God is continuing to bless us. We are so grateful!

Most of you know that I am in a high-risk pregnancy. I must give myself blood thinner shots every 12 hours. They have become increasingly more painful as my pregnancy progresses. Sometimes I cannot help but cry. When it is so painful that I think I cannot manage to keep doing this, I've found that it helps to unite my physical pain with the pain that Jesus endured for all of us. When I do that, then it always makes it easier - and somehow it doesn't hurt as much when I do that.

With my history of recurrent miscarriage, I will be at risk for postpartum depression. Please continue to pray for me and my little one that God will continue to see us through the challenges that lie ahead. Thank you so much!

Prayers for all pregnant women and for those wishing to conceive.

Tweepy,

You are in my prayers.  What you are going through sounds pretty rough, but it will all be forgotten in a few months when you are holding that sweet baby!

Tweepy,

What a rough road you're on - but you're using the best weapons at your disposal...prayer, sacrifice, and help here from the Church Militant.

I will keep you and your little one in my feeble prayers!

Tweepy and littleflower, I'll pray for you both... In return, I ask your prayers for my mother who is expecting number eleven! No problems yet or expected, but prayers always help.
