What is it exactly that you are affirming to when you put your support behind an Indult Mass? It is nothing less than agreeing that an Indult is needed for the Trad Mass, the N.O. is just fine and dandy, Vatican II is OK, and it is merely a matter of personal preference that you attend a Traditional Mass.

I really have to take exception with that statement. I am not going to the Indult to make a statement, I am going there to worship Our Lord. Period. It gets rather tiresome when I have to be condemned, my motives questioned, my stance on the NO questioned, and Catholics questioning what kind of "statement" I am trying to make just because I go to the Indult. I am not making any statement at all. I am just worshiping Our Lord as he has asked me to do.

Vox: I feel I have to defend myself here. This thread should have been moved to the sede thread and suggested it from the beginning. I had looked that one over but no sedes has posted to it as far as I could see. They will not go to that thread and argue their position.

When Catholic Lady asked her question some men who hold to the sedevacantist position immediately began to encourage her to go to a sede chapel and then proceeded to attack the SSPX and Indult. The choice to remain silent and respect your wishes was overcome by my perceived duty to point to the sedevacantist error for the sake of truth.

Those pictures, by the way, are not my memories of Nuns. I remember them as youthful, fresh, energetic and enormously interested in their young charges. When they passed you they left a feeling of cleanliness and crackling energy. When you were in a circle of children with them you felt protected. Large Rosaries hung from their sides which they were constantly handling.  I have not seen whites like their collars and habits since.

They loved God, they loved their work - not that it was easy - having to deal with some of the most difficult situations caused by desertions in the family and general discord in society which were reflected in the actions of their students. They handled some of the toughest boys and girls because they were ignored or rejected by all other institutions.  A residual resentment to the discipline they enforced are in those pictures. But, believe me, it was a very small part of the typical child's experience in the Catholic school system.

A true picture of a Nun calling you on the carpet is for Sister or Mother to stand there with her hands folded inside her voluminous sleeves asking - with a steady look - for an explanation for your behaviour. It would be more "traditional" to find a picture like that.

They're not my mother's memories either.  She loved the nuns of  her Catholic school. She only talked of one who was nasty, though  didn't hit anyone, because she didn't really want to be a nun.   Now my father told of memories in public school where a male teacher  used a ruler quite often to discipline errant students.  My father  found himself at the end of that ruler a few times, once because he  could only do math in his head.
