I have never done a taste test, but I understand that there are strong feelings about this topic, which leads me to these topics:
Fried Green Tomatoes:flour or cornmeal or both?
Cornbread: Yankee or Rebel?
Grits: nay or yay, and if yay, how?
Watermelon: plain, salted, or plugged?
Ham: Salted or sugar-cured?
Salad: before the meal, between courses, or after?
Hostess or Little Debbie?
Coke or Pepsi? And are they "sodas" or "pops"?
Hot dogs: Chicago, Coney Island, plain with mustard and/or ketchup and onion, or on a stick wrapped in cornmeal?
Pizza: thick, thin, or Chicago-style?
Those large, sweet, green peppers: green peppers," "bell peppers," or "mangoes"?
Fried green tomatoes: n/a
Cornbread: I'm not familiar with the distinction
Grits: yea. mmm.... butter, salt, and pepper.
Watermelon: Plain, preferably seedless.
Ham: Blech! But if we have to have it, then sugar cured, most definitely.
Salad: Before the meal, with bleu cheese dressing
Hostess or Little Debbie: Both, if I eat them at all. I make no distinction.
Coke or Pepsi: COCA-COLA!!! And it ought to be "Pop!" Though here in MO, I notice people call it Soda.
Hot-dogs: Blech! Polish sausage is far better. If I have to eat hot-dog, it's plain with mustard.
Pizza: any way is fine.
Peppers: I've heard them called both green and bell peppers. I'm inclined to favor "green."
