Hello!  I was wondering what some of you use for homeschool recordkeeping.  Anyone use a software program?  I am looking at HER - HomeSchool Easy Records which looks really good but I'm also looking for other suggestions and advice.

Thanks so much!

Hello Amata! Welcome to the board!

That program looks pretty nice.  I also was looking for a software program to use, and I purchased Homeschool Tracker Plus last year.  I am more of a paper and pen person, but I have been transitioning to more computer work.  You can still print out hard copies of everything if you prefer that.

Homeschool Tracker has I think pretty much all of the features that HER has, but it is a little less expensive for the full version.  There is a free version which is often enough for most homeschoolers, but I went ahead and purchased the Plus Version.  The technical support is great- and sometimes you can even converse via IM if she is online.  They also have frequent free updates for Plus users.  You can find out about them here:http://www.homeschooltracker.com/

Thanks for posting that, Sophia.  I had homeschool tracker, but forgot to back it up before my husband played doctor on the computer, and it's gone now.  I just had the free version and hadn't used it yet, since I hadn't started formally homeschooling.  This will be my first year, so any prayers are appreciated.

Thank you so much, Sophia.  Right now, I'm leaning towards a free program, at least for this year.  We did kindergarten last year but now with first grade I'm not sure how much I need to really keep track of either (i.e. lesson plans, grades).  I just feel like the more organized I am, the better.

My good wishes & prayers to all homeschoolers ~ have fun!
