No, no, this is a picture from the Juventutem thingie I found on the net.

I could of gone to Juventutem[plane tickets from Poland to Germany only cost 10-20 dollars!] but sadly I didn't. I think I missed out on some great Catholic fun. Oh well, perhaps next time.

Yes, it is Bishop Fernando Rifan of the Sacerdotal Society of St. John Vianney of Ars (Campos, Brazil).

Quite nice this photograph. Not ridiculizing his dignity, I guess, and yet pleasant and humorous. (Of course I know trads who would detest a bishop playing the accordeon, but I don't think he was singing indecent texts.)

Accordeons RULE. And I am not being facetious. What a wonderful, overlooked, strangely-mocked instrument! It's so capable of sounding happy as all get-out, or sad and wistful, able to evoke anything from Oktoberfest to lost loves. It also has the bonus of being so "Old World," too. And, like the piano, it's more than a "Johnny-One-Note"; it's an orchestra in a squeezebox. Love 'em!
