OK,

State the obvious.  So what.  you see, if we outlaw abortion people are still going to have them illegally, or go to mexico.  So who cares, lets ditch all efforts.  Im sorry you have a pessimistic view of "parental involvement."  So there are many parents who don't care or want their kids to get abortions. Well, I'm going out on limb here, but, I assume there are some good parents who have pregnant teens, that would like to be notified if their child is going in to have an abortion.

It's either going to be "require a doctor to notify a parent or legal guardian 48 hours before an abortion is performed on their minor daughter."

or

Do not "require a doctor to notify a parent or legal guardian 48 hours before an abortion is performed on their minor daughter."

I understand its not much, but its something.  You have 3 options, vote yes, vote no, dont vote.  So i'll just stay home and practice my latin because either way its "meaningless."

For me this is less about rather it will decrease the number of  abortions (if it does great) than whether or not I have any rights left  as a parent.
The state continues to emphatically proclaim, to anyone with ears to hear:

your children belong to the state, you may keep them only as long as you do as we say

The person that took my daughter to get an abortion without my  knowledge, I have no problem here publically proclaiming I'd drop 'em  in broad daylight and never regret it for it second.

Proof of my assertion in the last post...
From the 9th Circuit court of appeals last week

Quote
We agree, and hold that there is no fundamental right of parents to be the exclusive  provider of information regarding sexual matters to their children,  either independent of their right to direct the upbringing and  education of their children or encompassed by it. We also hold that  parents have no due process or privacy right to override the  determinations of public schools as to the information to which their  children will be exposed while enrolled as students. Finally, we hold  that the defendants' actions were rationally related to a legitimate  state purpose.

It won't be much longer til the state just skips the pretense and takes  children from their parents at birth to be raised in state run camps.  And my guess is Americans will acquiese without nary a peep.

im not a pessimist, or an optimist either. i would call myself a realist. in reality, such laws are merely bandaids.

why not become a sidewalk councellor, or pray outside your local abortuary? there are plenty of effective means to shut down these places, and can involve other means besides direct participation. for instance, there are legal tactics (not to be confused with political), skillfull research teams, and other volunteers who provide assistance in their areas of specialty, which result in getting the mills shut down. politicians are not going to get their hands dirty; its not going to happen.

i invite you to listen to a talk given for sidewalk councellors in florida.
