Well here is my view on EWTN. If their style Novus Ordo and interpretation of Vatican II became the norm, I think the Church would be in good shape and traditionalism could easily stand side by side with them. I think they are allies in the fight against modernism.

Anybody disagree?  Post or pm me if you have an objection.

If all NO Massses were like the one on EWTN, it would, at least, greatly lessen the liturgical chaos and just chaos in general in the Church. It certainly would not cure many or most of the problems in the Church, but it would be better than the current situation.

Novus Ordo "Eucharistic ministers" are starting to "bless" those who are too young for communion, in the manner of priests. I read this in New Oxford Review.

Whats your take on EWTN?

It has some really good shows, but it has some really neo-conish shows too. It's a great thing for people just learning about Catholicism, but can make you less Traditional if you watch it once you are a Trad.

All in all, most of it's OK. Some of it's even good. One thing that would improve EWTN - get rid of some of those bland - banal backgrounds

However that aside, I noticed around Christmas time they were showing pretty neat old gospel movies..

Just as with anything else, take the good, leave the bad.

EWTN has some very good shows on it, and some shows which I can't stand to listen to or watch (such as Father Benedict Groeschel).

I think it's a very valuable Catholic voice.

Many in N.O. parishes start to finally understand and appreciate their faith through EWTN, and that's a good thing
