After reading through this forum, the fish eaters site, various others, and discussing them with my NO pastor, and my grandfather who I discovered is a trad in exile, you've got me converted.

Vatican II was ambiguous at best, and only was infallbile when repeating previously defined dogma. It was a disaster. Instead of letting in fresh air, or a renewal, (as if the Bride of Christ needed a make-over) my grandfather described what happened accuratley, "IT LET IN A ********* HURRICANE!"

My grandfather never uses profanity.

For proof of the disaster I take you to a hardcore Novus Ordo website: http://www.franciscanfriars.com/fr.%20glenn%20letters/frglenn651.htm

Is there any way to change my user name?

It WAS the hurricane, and like the recent one in New Orleans (Wilma?), it destroyed the divinely-constructed levee system.  Now, the once-celestial city is totally flooded, and chaos has ensued, unabated for 40 years.

Of course, it is absurd to say anything divine can be destroyed by mere human beings, but the humans can choose to set aside the divinely-given helps (Sacraments, the Mass, etc.).  We see the wisdom of that decision every day.

However I am not a sedevacantist and hesitate to follow the SSPX. either the Pope has jurisdiction over the Roman Church, and whether or not bishops are appointed or Vatican I was wrong. I'm going to stick with the Indult Mass. (Whenever I can get to one that is, the closest one to my town is 2hours away)

You should make your feelings known and try to get one started up closer to where you live.

The Bishop has said no many times in the past and I have no idea how or where to contact others who would be interested.

I attend St. Francis de Sales Oratory in St. Louis, MO, run by the Institute of Christ the King, Sovereign Priest.  Great, great church.  All the sacraments in the traditional rites.  If you are near an ICKSP parish, you can't go wrong.

As to your "not a sedevacantist and hesitant to follow sspx" comment, I know you probably meant them as two separate statements, but just to clarify any possible confusion the sspx are not sedevacantists and consistently condemn this position.

It is the Holy Ghost who converts people to the faith. Smile

Some good books to obtain:

Iota Unum, Romano Amerio, Professor (and V.II perito)

The Spiritual Life, Fr. Tanquerey

Priest, Where Is Thy Mass..., published by Angelus Press

Those books give you, respectively, a cultural overview of shifts and inconsistencies in the Church, a correct overview of Catholic spirituality, and an array of responses well-formed priests have made to the chaos.

This is excellent news, Deo Gratias! Smile

There is no way to change your username, but if you want to start a new one (which I recommend) then just do so, and in your signature spot, make sure to put something, at least for awhile, like "formerly 'ConfusedEWTNCatholic,'" that way we'll know "who you are," so to speak.

I am now the CounterRevolutionary!

I will fight for the return of Papal Tiaras, the Traditional Latin Mass, and the Holy Roman Empire!
